End of the Semester

Finals week...probably everybody is counting the hours to be thursday or orelse the day of the last final.....(I'm counting....lol)

This weather.. cold....probably is the first time of living in a weather like this.... and I can say.. It is not easy to get used....

I just want to wish for everybody good luck on finals... and a great winter break!!

And Xmas is comming... I love this time of the year... usually It is a time of family together.. But this year will be a home away Xmas... Hope we all will have something to do on Xmas!! And have a Nice Break!

The Perfect Christmas Carol

I love music it's an important part of my life.The Christmas Carol is my all time favorite.It's a great theatre.It is not just a theatre.It is cinematic experince.The cast, script, atmosphere, music, everything is so flawless.Gorgeus setting and incredible renditions are really professional.
I several times went to looks like same theatre in my country but i never ever seen this performances of all time also I think we are very lucky because we didnt pay anything for entered the theatre :)
Dialog were a wee bit hard, sometimes I dont understand but players face explain the story.When the white costume player's (ghost) moved up theatre arena several kids scared and they were screech.This part was very funny for me.
Susan thank u for a lovely theatre .I had a really great time.Thank you for invited us.

60-Minute Thanksgiving Dinner Plan

Coordinating a traditional Thanksgiving menu can be challenging to any cook, but trying to whip up a great holiday meal in 60 minutes seems almost impossible ­ unless you follow our recipes and this game plan to dovetail the prep. Our menu does not include a recipe for the turkey since a fully roasted one is so easy to buy at the supermarket or specialty food store.
Turkey (purchased or homemade)
Spinach and Mandarin Orange Salad
Maple-Roasted Squash
Smashed Potatoes with Yogurt and Chives
Tarragon Peas and Pearl Onions
Savory Pear Stuffing
Ginger-Orange Cranberry Sauce
Pumpkin Pie with Bourbon Whipped Cream
1. Prepare cranberry sauce and bourbon whipped cream for pie and refrigerate both.2. Prepare and roast squash.**3. Mix together ingredients for stuffing and bake in the same oven along with squash.4. While the oven is occupied, prepare smashed potatoes in the microwave.5. Cook peas and onions on top of the range. 6. Place components for the salad in a large bowl and toss.7. Just before serving, dollop pie with whipped cream.
** If you chose to roast your own turkey and it’s still in the oven, start with the potatoes first, then work your way down the list. Once the bird is out of the oven, increase the heat to 425°F. and then cook the squash and the stuffing.

Beware the demon of Green Street!!!

Hi All...
I found an interesting article about halloween in champaign-urbana on daily illini newspaper, especially with the HOT issue about "demon" looking for victims. Although it seems funny, but at least we have something to think about before doing anything...so, here it goes!!!

This death threat is totally ruining Halloween. Before, when campustown was a glorious place filled with girls in themed lingerie and boys in masks, the holiday was bigger and better than it will ever be when we're miserable adults, unable to enjoy the irresponsible smuttiness of our youth. Now, there's a terror cloud hanging over our main street, making the cartoon-y fears of Halloween a reality because of the note left in the Undergraduate Library men's bathroom stating that someone on Green Street would be shot on the night of the 31st.

If you plan to buck up and actually exit your Champaign apartment for an Urbana house party like I do, make sure to consider the impact of your costume choice. With the assumed cops and camera crews palling around campus covering what will hopefully just be a hoax, you can't wear just anything anymore.

Though you've planned, glued, sewn, created and thrifted enough to make a stellar get-up, due to the murder mystery emerging, not every costume has the same meaning anymore. Here are some costumes that are now inappropriate because of the looming campus death threat:

Angel: They're the standard for innocence, but also a consolation prize for when good, innocent people turn to good, innocent, no-longer-alive people. Sure, baby blue is a feminine color and pairing it with a cute headpiece and miniscule skirt is an easy, skimpy outfit, but all things considered, a little too depressingly ironic.

Grim Reaper: Imagine walking on the gravel-grounded paths behind apartments, trying to ignore the legitimately haunted Green Street and as you cut through a deserted alleyway, you run into the teetering shadow of a man dressed in a black cloak carrying a scythe. Terrifying any day of the week, but on this super-scary Halloween, it's as bad as seeing Krueger in the flesh.

Cop, cowboy, bandit, maverick or anything else that would require a toy gun: Do you really want the Champaign Police Department to play Where's Waldo and take you down accidentally? Didn't think so. Try switching your bullet-holding prop with a fake machete. Way spookier, more costume like and totally old school.

Sexy Unabomber: My friend Hallie's costume, which is now a bust. If she's the one who gets hurt and it's all over the news, she doesn't want the entire world to know the last outfit she wore was a skanky jailsuit and that she dressed as a seductive terrorist.

Green Street Murderer: My costume, which is now a bust. If no one gets hurt, it would be absolutely flawless as far as costumes go, but oh my god, if it does happen, you'll probably be a suspect and hated by all of your friends. (It would have been hilarious for the first few hours, though. Oh well.)

Sarah Palin: Not only is everyone dressing as this, it might actually provoke someone, not even the murderer, to hurt you.

Gladiator: They mercelessly kill people for no reason - not exactly the look you should be going for. Double no-no if you're a character from 300 - belting "Spart-aahhnns!" at a gaggle of girls to impress them when they're already terrified to be outside their bedrooms isn't exactly a good way to get them into yours.

Sweeney Todd: Duh. (See "Grim Reaper.")

Superman or Batman: There's undoubtedly going to be cops, news crews and student reporters around town, like the good ol' London Times days. If you happen to get caught onscreen when something bad happens, you'll be the ironic photo of the week being passed from blog to blog. Or people will rely on you to save them. (That's what happens when you wear the S, buddy.)

About the Halloween in Green Street

The letter about what is going on for those who did not read!

As the Halloween weekend approaches, I write to update you on the
investigation of a threatening note recently found in the Library. The
task force established to investigate this threat continues to work toward
identifying the author and assessing the credibility of the note. Despite
our efforts, we have no information to lead us to believe the threat is
any more or less credible than we did when it was first discovered.

The note stated that on Oct. 3, the note's author had damaged a vehicle
window at the Savoy 16 Theaters at 232 W. Burwash Ave., Savoy. The note
threatened that on Halloween night (Oct. 31), the suspect intends to shoot
a person on Green Street.

More specifically, the note stated that "On Oct. 3rd 2008 I Used a Ruger
22. caliber rifle to take shot at a black sedan in parking lot of Savoy
Theatre." The note further stated that "On Halloween Night 2008" another
shot will be taken "on Green Street in the night life district."

We are asking the campus community again for your help in identifying the
person who left the note. If you have any information regarding who may
have written the note or damaged the vehicle in Savoy, contact the
University of Illinois Police Department at 217-333-1216, or you may
anonymously contact Crime Stoppers by calling 217-373-8477, by submitting
anonymous tips online at www.373tips.com or by texting Tip397 plus the
relevant information to 274637 (CRIMES).

Contrary to rumors circulating on campus, this is the ONLY threat we have
received.

Although this note may be some sort of hoax or prank, we are taking it
extremely seriously. It is also understandable that this threat is causing
much concern for students, parents and the university community. We remain
hopeful that the author of the note will come forward or can be identified
prior to Halloween to relieve these concerns.

A separate task force has been planning police operations on Halloween.
Additional police resources, assets, strategies and tactics will be
deployed as needed throughout the campus district.

People have asked whether they should avoid Green Street on Halloween
night. Some may choose to not be present where the threat was focused, but
no matter where you are, we advise you to always be aware of your
surroundings and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the
police.

If you are celebrating Halloween by wearing a costume, you absolutely
should NOT carry any type of replica, toy or fake weapon.
